Highly qualified undergraduate students are invited to apply for scholarships funding study, senior thesis research and/or internships in Germany. The goal of this program is to support study abroad in Germany and at German universities. Preference will be given to students whose projects or programs are based at and organized by a German university. Scholarships are available either as part of an organized study abroad program or as part of an individual, student-designed study abroad semester or year.
Focus- Students who are interested in studying in Germany at German Universities for a 4-10 month period
Eligibility- Current 2nd or 3rd year full-time students that will be in their 3rd or 4th year during their stay in Germany; German language proficiency is not mandatory, and students must return to U.S. to finish a bachelor’s degree
Submission- Students must submit resume, project proposal ( approximately 3 pages ), two letters of recommendation, Statement of Support and Credit Eligibility, Acceptance Letter from the Study Abroad Program, Exchange Program or a letter by a mentor, Transcripts, and Language Evaluation Certificate. Students must submit their application online as well as mail the original application plus 3 copies of the entire application packet.
Criteria- Students who possess outstanding academic records and personal integrity, have well-defined study, research, or internship plans for their stay in Germany, demonstrate an interest in contemporary German and European affairs, and who explain the significance of their project in Germany to their future studies, research, or professional goals.
Benefits- Students are granted a minimum of 4 (one semester) and a maximum of 10 months (1 year) stipend, funds to help defray travel, and research expenses as well as health insurance.
