WELCOME to the University of Colorado Denver|Anschutz Medical Campus Privacy Office
The Privacy Office is committed to working with researchers and all parties across the UCD community
to ensure the integrity of Protected Health Information, whether it is collected, created, transmitted, released, or
stored by UCD employees or their affiliates.
We aim to be a valued partner and guide to students, faculty,
institutional partners, and all members of the UCD|AMC community in working
with healthcare affiliates, such as hospitals and clinics, to protect patient
privacy and respond to concerns raised under HIPAA.
Our support comes in many forms,
including assistance in creating agreements with external entities who are
viewed as Business Associates, Data Users, or those with whom our institution
shares or transfers materials. Look for
these items further in our website:
In support of our effort to
protect sensitive data, we work with stakeholders throughout the UCD community
to provide consultation in project planning, procedures, and protocols, in
order to fulfill the University's mission and to meet applicable privacy laws
We provide basic training in HIPAA
regulation, which is mandatory for most of the UCD workforce. An employee is required to take on-line
training, unless the work unit has been notified otherwise by the campus
If you have any questions, contact the Privacy Officer, who is also listed on the left of this
