ClinicalTrials.gov is a federally mandated registry and results database of publicly and privately supported clinical studies of human participants conducted around the world. The regulations governing posting require that applicable clinical trials be posted.
In addition, some funding agencies, NIH, Bill and Melinda Gates, also require posting as do many journals. This page has been designed to help you find information and assistance.
Responsibilities of UCD Faculty as Record Owners in ClinicalTrials.gov
When UCD faculty conduct investigator initiated studies and the study is required to be posted on clinicaltrials.gov, the UCD faculty member is the record owner and therefore responsible for submitting and maintaining the posting.
The Clinical Research Support Center can offer support and assistance including obtaining an account, guidance on creating the record in clinicaltrials.gov; assistance with updates and results posting.
New faculty coming in or faculty leaving will be required to transfer their clinicaltrials.gov postings with them. The staff in the Clinical Research Support Center can assist with this as well.
