Before Your First Day

Must Do's before Day #1

Sign In to your Email, Portal and Blackboard! Get your UserIDs and Passwords working BEFORE you arrive. Trouble signing in?
Call 303/724-2171

Disability Resources and Services Office - do you have a learning disability for which you believe you are eligible to receive accommodations?
Call 303/724-5640 as soon as you are admitted into your program to begin this process.

Housing / Roommates - Live alone or with someone else - and call the Student Assistance Office if you need some help!

Parking - chances are you'll drive your first day. Look at this map to find where you'll park - most new students will park in GEORGETOWN lot.   Trust us, do this just for a day or two, lines at kiosks will be long and you might risk being late to class. Do NOT try and park for free - that's a $20 ticket!

Student Health Insurance - Student Health Insurance is a mandatory thing here at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Review your options before deciding to enroll in this campus' plan, or to keep your own (you must meet the Student Health Insurance Office's waiver criteria in order to keep your own health insurance.)

On Your First Day

Taking Care of these First Day Matters will make the rest of your time here go smoother!

Parking on your first day - use the Visitor Lots and pay for a full day ($5). Visit Parking and Transportation to sign up for parking in the gated lots.  Otherwise, use your RTD College Pass that you'll be given during matriculation. 

Classrooms  Your scheduled classes can be found on electronic displays on the first and second floors of Ed II North, first floor of Ed II South, and first floor of Ed I.

Student Assistance Office - come by and see us! Among other things, we run the front of the Student Services Suite in Ed II North. Ask us a ton of questions - (keeps us on our toes and keeps you informed!)

After Your First Day

Important Stuff but it can wait just a bit after arrival

Health Care Provider/s - find them! Use your current health insurance / dental insurance websites to find provider/s BEFORE an emergency arises!

Lockers - find out where you'll spend a lot of time and pick a locker near there.

Printers/Copiers/FAX machines -
Printers are located in several locations for your use. Check the Student Life Handbook and your own program's student handbook for locations.

Copiers are more scarce -pay per copy locations are in the Health Sciences Library and in Printing Services (located in the Bookstore).

For business within the Student Services Suite (Registrar, Student Health Insurance, Financial Aid, etc.,) you may bring your originals to the Front Desk and the Student Assistance Office staff will make copies for you. 

FAX and SCAN - need something faxed or scanned and emailed for you? Stop by the Student Assistance Office front desk for either of these services. 

You can receive FAXes at this location after matriculation by sending items to 303/724-7685.
There is also a 24/7 FAX for local use only in 2201 of ED II North.
