​​​Mental Health Crisis/Emergency

If a student is experiencing a mental health crisis, there are several resources available.

  • If there is an immediate threat to self or others, call the Auraria Police Department at 911 (if calling from a campus phone) or 303-556-5000 (if calling from an off-campus phone or mobile phone).

  • Students can walk-in to the CU Denver Student and Community Counseling Center, weekdays (Monday -Thursday 10am-4pm; Friday 11am-2pm).

  • If students cannot come to the counseling center, they can call 303-315-7270 and ask to speak to the on-call counselor.
  • If after hours or on weekends, either:
      • ​call the CU emergency after-hours line for CU Denver students at 303-615-9911, or
      • ​call 1-844-493-8255 or text “Talk” to 38255. In-person mental health crisis services are available through the Colorado Crisis Services, Denver Walk-In Center 24/7/365, located at 4353 E. Colfax Avenue.
