Presentations Offered

For Faculty looking to request in-class presentations:

Please review the presentations we can offer in-class.  We are also happy to adapt any of the below content to your student’s needs.  If requesting a tailored presentation, we require at least two weeks’ notice to ensure the staff member can accommodate your request.

Within five business days, Jessie will send an email confirmation including the specific Career Center representative and workshop date.

DreamBIG! Workshop

Discover how to choose a major and/or career path that is right for you through interactive activities, learning from the success of others, and exploring your dreams.

Strong Interest Inventory (SII)

Based on more than 80 years of research, the SII is one of the most reliable interest inventories available today. It measures your level of interests in a broad range of categories and then compares your interests to those of people who are happily employed in a variety of occupations. This workshop includes an SII interpretation and a discussion of how to recognize important career-related interests in everyday activities.
Preparation: SII assessment must be completed one day prior to the workshop
Cost: $15.00

StrengthsQuest (SQ)

This is an interactive presentation focusing on your natural talents. Those wonderful qualities within yourself that you are naturally good at.  A discussion and reflection of your StrengthsQuest results will help you articulate your talents to prospective employers: in person and on your résumé.  Join us to learn more about yourself from a strengths perspective.
Preparation: SQ assessment must be completed one day prior to the workshop
Cost: $15.00

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

The MBTI helps you identify personality characteristics that can be useful in understanding personal work habits, decision-making, communication styles, preferred work environments, and potential occupations. This workshop includes an interpretation of your MBTI results, a discussion of how to use this information in your career decision-making process, and access to additional Myers-Briggs related resources.
Preparation: MBTI assessment must be completed one day prior to the workshop
Cost: $15.00/student

Résumé Basics

This workshop is perfect for students who have never developed a professional résumé before.  Learn the basics of résumé writing, identify your best skill sets, and discover how to articulate your experiences to spark the interest of the reader. 

Advance Résumé Writing

A well written résumé is essential for grabbing the attention of employers.  However, how you do that can sometimes be perplexing. Learn advanced tips that will showcase your best strengths/skill sets and discover how to articulate your experience to spark the interest of the reader.  Make a connection that will make the employer take a second look.
Preparation: Bring a job posting for a job you are interested in and your résumé.

What’s Your Next Move?

This workshop is designed to help graduating students think about life after school. Focusing on successful job searching techniques, including networking.
