Radiation Safety Training

Radiation Safety Training consists of modular training and annual refresher training. The Modular Training has 5 training modules. The first 4 modules are required for all users of radioactive materials and the 5th module is required for all PI's in addition to the first 4. Annual refresher training is required every year afterwards.

X-Irradiator Training - Training for use of the X-Irradiator is conducted by Tim Thorvaldson. If you need to sign up for training or if you have questions, contact Tim Thorvaldson at 303-724-0109.

Radiation Safety On the Job Training form is required for all users and must be kept in the lab for the laboratories authorization records. Go to our Forms page to download the current revision of the Rad Safety OJT Form.

RAD WIT Worker in Training Program - A PI or researcher who has not completed Module 1, 2, 3 or 4 may work with radioactive materials under the direct supervision of one or more specific preceptor(s) who are authorized to work with radioactive materials. To sign up for RAD WIT status, complete a RAD Worker in Training Application from our Forms page.
