U00050: Lab Safety Training

In response to increasing regulatory oversight and to improve the safety of the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus and the Downtown Denver Campus communities, the department of Environmental Health and Safety and the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Research have developed a new Laboratory Safety training course (U00050) that is available  through Skillport.  This training will identify basic laboratory hazards, safety controls, and incident response and reporting.

Any employee is welcome and encouraged to take the Lab Safety training.  Individuals new to the institution are required to take the training if they will work in a laboratory setting.  Existing or previous employees who are new to the laboratory work area are also required to take this training.

Lab Safety training for new lab workers must be completed within 45 days of the hire date (or date of transfer or reassignment within UC Denver where new duties involve working in a laboratory).

If you have any questions about this requirement, please contact EHS at 303-724-0345.
