 General Instructions (InfoEd)

Logging into InfoEd eRAGeneral instructions on how to access and log into the InfoEd Electronic Research Administration (eRA) portal. Video instructions are at (Adobe Flash is required for viewing.)
Main Menu and User SetupThese instructions walk you through the main portal page in InfoEd eRA. It shows how to access the Grants module and the Human Subjects module used by COMIRB. It also shows how to update your profile with basic information that will be used in proposal records.

Building a NIH Proposal from Beginning to EndOverview – We will create a NIH proposal from beginning to end using InfoEd eRA.  In this session we build the proposal, routing sheet and submit for review to OGC PreAward.  The proposal will then be submitted to NIH in InfoEd using s2s (system-to-system).​

Building Budgets, Personnel Appointments and Multiple PIs : Overview – Building Modular and R&R detailed budgets, personnel appointments for annual, academic and summer, and multiple PIs.  An in-depth session explaining various components of building the budget models and personnel appointments.

Constructing Subcontracts: Overview – Understanding the details of constructing subcontracts in proposal applications for both modular and R&R detailed budgets. 

Preparing a Mentored K Award Proposal​: Overview – This presentation will assist in preparing a mentored K series application.  The unique requirements of the application are covered.

Overview of NRSA Individual Fellowship Proposals​: A brief overview of the application preparation for individual NRSA Pre and Postdoctoral proposals

Changing the Associated Department (Video): In this video you will walk through changing the Associated Department in the Setup Questions to an Org number for sponsored programs.  This Org is required for the routing process and award setup.

Removing PDF Bookmarks.pdf (Video): A video demonstration of how to remove bookmarks from a PDF document for upload into a NIH or other proposal.

This handout will provide instructions for resizing the page size of a PDF file.​


 Routing and Reviewing

Submitting and Approving an Electronic ProposalAs we roll electronic routing out (currently in Phase Two​), these instructions will walk the PI and administrators through finalizing and submitting proposals in InfoEd eRA.

Creating a Proposal for Electronic Routing: This guide walks through creating a simple proposal to use for routing proposals from other sponsors such as Foundations or other sponsoring agencies.

Reviewing the Electronic ProposalThese instructions are for proposal reviewers, including the submitting PI’s, who are routing their proposals through InfoEd eRA (currently in Phase Two).​

Routing Using the eRA System (Video): In this video we will cover how to route any non-NIH proposals, contracts or RPPRs using a simple routing template proposal.

Video for Routing RPPRCreating a routing/proposal for a RPPR – (video) This short video (18 minutes) will walk through the steps for creating an RPPR in InfoEd.  The actual RPPR is created in eRA Commons and this is the routing for the new money for the next period.  It plays on Windows Media Player and iTunes.
