The Initiative is housed in the College of Nursing at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, collaborating with the Colorado School of Public Health (an inter-institutional collaboration between the University of Colorado, Colorado State University, and the University of Northern Colorado), and the schools and colleges on the Anschutz Medical Campus with internationally-known faculty in the field of obesity and healthy lifestyles across disciplines.

 Investigators from across the state of Colorado bring extensive expertise in obesity and related chronic conditions, health information technology to support self-management, culturally-sensitive interventions, and biobehavioral measurement of outcomes

National Guidelines

Our work includes membership on the national committees that created the obesity prevention recommendations of NAPNAP’s Healthy Eating and Activity Together (HEATSM) guidelines, the HRSA/CDC/AMA/AAP Expert Recommendations, NHLBI recommendations for childhood obesity, and NICHQ’s National Advisory Council for Childhood Obesity.
