Want to learn more about how to apply Pharmacogenomics to patient Care? Then the Pharmacogenomics Certificate offered by the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and the College of Nursing could be the program for you.

The Certificate Program addresses the fundamentals of pharmacogenomics; interpretation of pharmacogenomic test results; literature evaluation and use of evidence-based guidelines; case-based scenarios, as well as how to implement pharmacogenomics in different health care settings.

 Achieve Targest in Diabetes Care - July 13-16, 2017

This annual 4-day conference emphasizes the challenges in day-to-day management of diabetes and practical ways to overcome those hurdles, specifically using new technologies.  The discussions will also focus on artificial pancreas-as the first hybrid closed-loop system will be available next year.  Prevention; new guidelines; the role of nonprofits in diabetes care, management and research; and updated from the Cardiovascular Outcome Trials (CVOT) will also be discussed.

 Surgical Skills for Midwives & Women's Health Clinicians, August 3-4, 2017

This interactive 2-day course is designed to provide participants with the foundation needed to become competent in the skills of knot-tying and suturing, perineal repair and first assistant role for cesarean section. Teaching methods include didactic content with a hands-on skills practicum using perineal and cesarean simulation models. Experience faculty will oversee skills practice and provide feedback.

Target Audience

 ONLINE Motivational Interviewing for Healthcare Professionals - Ongoing

This series of online courses will provide an in-depth understanding of motivational interviewing as an evidence-based approach to support health behavior change. A healthcare provider's skill in recognizing patients' readiness, responding effectively to both sides of the patient's ambivalence and supporting motivation for change is essential to improving health outcomes. Attendees will participate in practice exercises and participatory learning experiences and after courses 1 and 2 will be ready to try MI in patient encounters. Access to an interactive website for follow-up networking and peer support is also included.

Target Audience

All healthcare professionals who work directly with patients will benefit from this program.
