Dean ThompsonWelcome!

As the dean, I am proud to join the distinguished and internationally-known faculty at the University of Colorado College of Nursing, faculty who are committed to improving the health and well-being of people through outstanding leadership in practice, education and research.

This is an exciting time to be a nurse. Reforms in our health care system are inevitable. Nurses will play a pivotal role in creating change. Nurses are expected to be transformational leaders; leaders who discover new knowledge to enhance patient outcomes, translate scientific evidence into patient care delivery, work in interprofessional teams and improve health outcomes through developing and testing new care delivery models. Nurses are at the forefront of health care.
