The accreditation of schools and colleges in the U.S. is overseen by several regional accrediting agencies. Colorado is one of 19 states whose schools and colleges are accredited by the North Central Association (NCA). R
rograms at the University of Colorado Denver were first accredited independently in 1970. The cycle for accreditation is typically ten years. The previous accreditation visit to the Denver campus of the University of Colorado (UC) at Denver occurred in 2001. Following the consolidation, the HLC conducted a visit that focused on the consolidation in 2005.
The visit by the HLC review team in April 2011 provides the university with a valuable opportunity for self-analysis, as well as an evaluation with experienced experts in higher education.
