The Learning Assistant (LA) Program is intended to give high performing science students an opportunity to learn about education, explore teaching as a career choice, support course reform of large lecture courses and improve student learning.
The LA program has grown quickly since the pilot
semester in Spring 2012. This fall, there are 41 Learning Assistants in
nine courses: General Biology I, Genetics, Chemistry Foundations,
Chemistry I and II, Organic Chemistry I and II, and Biochemistry.
