Lynn Bennethum has a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS and PhD in Applied Mathematics under the advisement of Jim Douglas Jr and John H. Cushman. She did her post doc in the field of Agronomy (soil physics). Her primary focus is on modeling porous materials (soils, biotissue, drug-delivery systems) using thermodynamics. Current projects include modeling a drug-delivery polymer (such as what is used in Aleve), the cilia of lungs passages that help propagate mucus, and partially saturated soils.
