After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Susan Gustin worked for 15 years for a major oil company, holding positions in refinery engineering, corporate recruiting and training.  After some years as a stay-at-home mom, she returned to school and obtained a Masters’ Degree in History from UC Denver in 2005.  The focus of her studies was US history from 1877-1930, and nineteenth- and twentieth-century British history. She has been teaching for the History Department since obtaining her degree.
Gustin is passionate about helping students improve their writing skills.  To that end, she worked as a Writing Consultant for the UCD Writing Center for one year.
