The GES/GIS Student Club aims to create an educational environment that provides opportunities for networking, field trips, community building and leadership. The club will provide networking opportunities within the disciplines of geography, environmental science and other careers via GIS professionals within the corresponding fields. Additionally, the club will encourage and continue networking among current and former UCD students within the field. Field trips will provide exposure to a variety of geographic techniques and methods as well as team building and practical skills via hands-on activities. Community building and leadership will include enhancing awareness of the Geography/Environmental Science community at UCD. Working in conjunction with other geography-based clubs on the Auraria Campus will promote student activities and leadership opportunities.
All majors and anyone with an interest in geography, environmental science or GIS are welcome to participate in the GES/GIS Student Club!
Unofficial meetings are held from 4:30pm at Old Chicago's on 14th and Market St., other meetings are posted on the Facebook page and on fliers around the North Classroom building.
