Graduate Environmental Science Certificates

Student doing land surveying work

Advisors: Frederick Chambers & Christy Briles

The Environmental Sciences discipline offers graduate level certificates in options:
  • Air Quality
  • Environmental Health
  • Ecosystems
  • Geospatial Analysis
  • Water Quality

The options are comprised of four courses and are designed to approach important environmental issues and technologies from various disciplines. To earn a certificate, students are required to satisfactorily complete the courses in the option of their interest. These courses may be used as electives within an MS degree program or can be taken through non-degree admission. Students must have the prerequisites for each course and must meet the requirements listed in the notes section of the MS Degree Options page.

A certificate will be issued upon proof of satisfactory completion of the courses. For an MS degree, the student must coordinate the option courses with electives in their program. This is done with the approval of the option advisor and the student's advisor. MS students may choose one of these options or may choose their own electives with their advisor. (MS students are not required to select one of the structured options.)
