Minor in Geology

(15 credit hours)

****The Geology Minor within the CU Denver Geography and Environmental Sciences Department has been discontinued. Any students who declared this minor prior to the beginning of the Fall 2015 semester may finish but we are no longer accepting new Geology Minors. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Two required classes (eight credits):
GEOL 1072, Physical Geology: Surface Processes
GEOL 1082, Physical Geology: Internal Processes

At least two of the following courses (seven credits minimum):
GEOL 3011-4, Mineralogy
GEOL 3102-3, Dinosaurs: Past and Present
GEOL 3411-4, Introductory Paleontology
GEOL 3421-4, Sedimentation and Stratigraphy
GEOL 4010-3, Landscape Geochemistry
GEOL 4240-3, Geomorphology
GEOL 4270-3, Glacial Geomorphology
GEOL 4030-3, Environmental Geology

Performance Requirements

At least two of the upper division requirements must be completed at UC Denver. Transfer students who have completed the equivalent of all these courses elsewhere must complete a minimum of two of the required upper division courses at UC Denver. No grade below a C (2.0) will be counted toward the minor requirements.
