Detailed information on the requirements for successful completion of the Biology M.S. program can be found in the Biology MS Graduate Student Handbook.​ Required documentation (copies of all forms should be given to the Director of the Biology MS Program).

Pre-registration agreement form:  This form is to be completed prior to your first semester in the Biology M.S. program.  In consultation with your faculty advisor, this form will provide a tentative academic plan for your degree.

Forms below and deadlines for submission can be found on the Graduate School website:

Request for Graduate Examination:  This form must be filled out and turned in a minimum of two weeks before the thesis defense for Research (thesis) students.  Coursework students must fill out this form prior to their Biology Comprehensive oral exam. 

Application for Admission to Candidacy:  This form must be filled out the semester the student is planning to complete their M.S. program and graduate.  This form is filled out in consultation with the student’s faculty advisor.

Intent to Graduate:  This online only form is filled out the semester the student is planning to graduate.

Thesis Formatting and Submission Guidelines:  Guidelines and deadlines associated with writing and submitting the thesis can be found on the Graduate School website. 

Thesis Defense Guidelines: This document provides information on the anticipated format and content of the thesis defense. Formatting and content of the written thesis can be found under "Thesis formatting and submission guidelines". Note that the thesis defense and presentation is developed in consultation with the student's faculty advisor.

Thesis Defense Evaluation Form (for faculty only): This form will be used by your faculty advisor and research committee members to evaluate your overall performance on your writtten thesis and thesis defense presentation.

Proposal and Proposal Defense Guidelines: This document provides information on the anticipated format and content of the proposal and proposal defense. Note that the proposal and proposal defense is developed in consultation with the student's faculty advisor.
