College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Continuing & Professional Education

The Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) Office in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) provides academic courses and programs (undergraduate and graduate) as well as non-credit courses for professional development or personal interest. Some of these provide continuing education units (C.E.U.s) to practicing professionals in fields that require state licensure and professional development. Courses that offer C.E.U.s may also provide a certificate of completion or a non-credit transcript from UCD.

CPE, also known as "Extended Studies, Distance Education or Outreach Programs," works with academic departments to offer travel study courses within the United States. We also help develop specialized programs for businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations.
