What to Bring
We recommend that all students bring six copies of their process paper and annotated bibliography. Why? If you qualify for the final round, you can then be sure there are enough materials for the second judging team.
Documentary contestants:
Students should bring their own laptop or other equipment to run their
project. Equipment is
provided in the judging rooms, but may not be compatible with your project. Mac
users MUST bring their own adapter
to connect their laptop to the VGA cable. Students should also bring a backup
copy of their documentary project in case they encounter technical difficulties
with the original. Do not trust a flash drive! Students may consider placing
their documentary on a web host (i.e. YouTube) as an additional precaution.
Exhibit and Performance contestants: If you need electricity, you must bring your own extension cords.
Free Time and Afternoon Activities
Participants in the Paper, Web Site and Exhibit categories are free after their interviews until the late afternoon. Participants in the Exhibit categories must return to the Auraria Event Center to dismantle their exhibits between 4:00 and 4:30. We encourage all participants to attend the awards ceremony, which starts at 5:00 p.m.
We suggest that you stop by the information table for information on where to eat and activities to enjoy on the Auraria campus and in downtown Denver during your free time.
T-Shirts
Contest T-shirts will be available through pre-sale only. All t-shirts will be available at a table in the registration area for pick-up in the PE/Event Center lobby.
