Where Can I Wait Before My Interview?

Exhibits: There will be a specific seating area outside of the gym by the doors closest to the Tivoli Student Union.
Website and Documentary: The North Classroom has many open seating areas in the Atrium. Please wait there until your interview time approaches.
Paper: The Plaza building has a few benches available in the hallway.
 ·      Temporary prop and costume holding areas: This year, we have designated two classrooms (KC 201 and KC 308) to hold costumes, props, and sets. Please know that these are shared areas and NHDC is not responsible for loss or damage. Materials left behind following the contest with be disposed or donated to a charity of our choice.

·      Sitting rooms: Out of consideration of fire codes, the classes in session, and for your fellow performing contestants, please keep a clear path in the hallways and minimize noise.  Classes are in session on Saturdays and voices do carry in the hallway.
This year, we have added several classrooms for you and your families to wait. These classrooms are located in King Center rooms 215, 218, 311, and 313.

What to Bring

We recommend that all students bring six copies of their process paper and annotated bibliography. Why? If you qualify for the final round, you can then be sure there are enough materials for the second judging team.

Documentary contestants:  Students should bring their own laptop or other equipment to run their project. Equipment is provided in the judging rooms, but may not be compatible with your project.  Mac users MUST bring their own adapter to connect their laptop to the VGA cable. Students should also bring a backup copy of their documentary project in case they encounter technical difficulties with the original. Do not trust a flash drive! We highly encourage students to place their documentaries on a web hosting site (i.e. YouTube or School Tube).

Exhibit and Performance contestants: If you need electricity, you must bring your own extension cords.

Free Time and Afternoon Activities

Participants in the Paper, Website and Exhibit categories are free after their interviews until the late afternoon. Participants in the Exhibit categories must return to the Auraria Event Center to dismantle their exhibits between 4:00 and 4:30. We encourage all participants to attend the awards ceremony, which starts at 5:00 p.m.

CU Denver is providing FREE t-shirts to all participating students who indicate their size on the registration form. No exchanges on size! We will not be selling t-shirts this year.
