New Student Orientation 

Welcome to CU Denver!

You made an excellent choice in deciding to attend the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver). We look forward to welcoming you into our dynamic and inclusive academic community.

New Student Orientation is designed to help you make the best possible transition to the University. Specific orientation programs are available throughout the academic year. 

Freshman Requirement
All first-time freshmen are required to participate in orientation. All first-time freshmen will meet with their academic advisor and register for first-semester courses at orientation. For more information, please visit our freshmen tab.

Participating in New Student Orientation is your next step to officially becoming a CU Denver student. Orientation for first-time freshmen is a one-day program that includes the following activities:

  • Academic advising.
  • Registration for courses.
  • Introduction to campus resources and policies.
  • Opportunity to meet with CU Denver students.

We encourage you to attend Parent Orientation, which features sessions specifically designed for you. For more information, please visit our parent tab

International, Transfer, Non-degree and Graduates
International and Transfer Students! We have programs designed specifically for you. For more information, please visit our International, Transfer, & Graduate Students tab. Graduate students should verify with their specific department before attending an orientation.

If you are a new student who may need accommodations due to a disability, please contact the Disability Resources and Services.

First-time freshmen and newly admitted transfer students can sign up for an orientation date by visiting their UCDAccess student portal.

  1. Login to UCDAccess (www.ucdenver.edu/ucdaccess)
  2. Select your Student tab
  3. Select Sign up for Orientation (right hand column)
