Radiation Safety

Radiation Safety

Radiation Safety provides services to campus laboratories in Radioactive Material Compliance, Radioactive Waste Management, Procurement of Radioactive Materials, and Radiation Safety Training. Radiation Safety works in conjunction with other EHS groups to maintain and provide services for all biomedical research needs.

Radiation Safety facilitates licensing PIs to use RAM on campus. Radioactive materials use must adhere to the rules and regulations outlined by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). Under these auspices and the authority of the Committee on Ionizing Radiation, Radiation Safety conducts audits and spot checks to ensure RAM is used in accordance with the rules promulgated by CDPHE through the institution's radioactive materials license.
