One of the most important aspects of the University Honors and Leadership (UHL) program experience is becoming part of a community of interested, engaged students from around the country who share a commitment to academic excellence. The cohort-based environment of the UHL program facilitates this through the close-knit relationships that it fosters.
UHL students have at their disposal a variety of vehicles for immersing themselves in the UHL community and for interacting with other like-minded students within and beyond UC Denver:
- Living in the UHL student housing community in Campus Village
- Planning and participating in social and service activities offered through the UHL program and the UHL Student Club
- Serving the University as a Chancellor’s Ambassador
- Participating in the ongoing development of the UHL program through the UHL Student Advisory Board
UHL students also have the opportunity to participate in the activities of state and national honors and leadership organizations, including the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) and the Colorado Leadership Alliance (CLA).
The UHL program offers many opportunities for student participation and interaction outside of the classroom environment, including the UHL Student Club and a variety of social and service activities throughout the year.

The UHL Chancellor’s Ambassadors Program provides an opportunity for UHL students to give back to the university by serving as student representatives of the Chancellor’s office, and thus of the university as a whole, at a variety of university events throughout the year.
UHL students have the opportunity to live together in a wing of the Campus Village Apartments.
