Welcome to the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the Colorado School of Public Health. Our faculty and students work to protect our health and safety from environmental and occupational health hazards everyday. From air pollution and hazardous waste to risk assessment and injury prevention, our courses and curriculum meet students' diverse environmental and occupational interests.

 

New Program! Global Public Health and Environmental Health

Gain an in-depth and global understanding of the environmental and occupational health issues facing worldwide communities. By pairing global public health and environmental health areas of study into one program, you'll better understand how to identify environmental exposures, prevent disease and respond to disasters on a global scale. Learn more

CSPH Expands Doctoral Education in Environmental Health 

From the places we live, learn, work and play – the environment has a direct impact on your health. A new program from the Colorado School of Public Health aims to better prepare leaders in the scientific community to understand and manage those impacts. Learn more

Project Helps Cities Become Bike, Pedestrian Friendly

Students participate in Kaiser Permanente's Walk and Wheel project that aims to boost active travel. Co-leading the project with Kaiser Permanente are Jill Litt, PhD, Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health in the Colorado School of Public Health and Carey McAndrews, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Planning and Design in the College of Architecture and Planning. McAndrews said the program is "building a cohort of students who are being trained in this kind of practice - the intersection of transportation and health and, more broadly, health and the built environment."
