Pursuing a PhD in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics


Students interested in pursuing a PhD in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics have the opportunity to do so via several different Graduate Programs. Faculty in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics participate in: The Molecular Biology Program, the Biomedical Sciences Program, the Program in Structural Biology and Biochemistry, the Computational Biosciences Program, the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD), the Cancer Biology Program, and the Human Medical Genetics and Genomics Program.  Visit the appropriate link for the program that best matches your interests to learn more about the PhD opportunities within that program. The close proximity of the basic science departments and clinical departments provides an excellent environment for the interchange of ideas, from the most biologically fundamental to those having a direct impact on clinical practice. Pursing a PhD degree in one of the Programs that faculty in the Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Department are affiliated with provides students exposure to many different researchers and collaborators throughout their educational experience.
