Spring Grads Showcase How CU Denver Makes Education Work for All

At 18 and 75 years old, Faith Solter and Jose Carbon are CU Denver’s youngest and oldest graduates this spring. When they sat down for a heartwarming chat, they discovered they had more in common than you might expect. Their journeys highlight how CU Denver empowers learners at every stage of life.

On Saturday, May 17 CU Denver welcomed more than 2,200 graduates to the alumni community. One-third of those graduates were first-generation college students and more than 125 are active-duty veterans. Graduates represented 40 states and more than 70 countries.

On May 8, University of Colorado Denver leadership, alumni, faculty, and friends gathered at Denver’s Mile High Station for the 2025 Alumni Awards ceremony—a night dedicated to recognizing the extraordinary impact of CU Denver alumni in their professions, communities, and the world.
