Services and Costs


Counseling services are free for all CU Denver students. Fees apply for testing services.

In addition to personalized one-on-one counse​ling sessions with our highly-trained and professional clinicians, we offer a multitude of other services including group sessions, workshops, professional presentations and a relaxation room.​



Counseling services are available and free for all CU Denver students. Community members and Denver Public School students can also receive services for a nominal fee (see below on page). Appointments​ ​are scheduled over the phone or in person, so take the first step today by calling our friendly staff or coming by during regular office hours.

The Counseling Center uses a brief (10 sessions), goal-directed, flexible counseling model for students and community members, offering the following counseling options in addition to individual therapy:​

  • Individual Counseling

  • Children and Adolescent counseling (including DPS students)

  • Family counseling

  • Couples counseling

 Crisis Walk-in

CU Denver students can walk into the Counseling Center or call 303-315-7270 with crisis concerns during these hours:

Monday-Thursday 10:00am-4:00pm, Friday 10:00am-2:00pm

 Testing/Assessment Services

CU Denver Students, community clients, and children can receive psychological and psychoeducational assessment services from the School of Education and Human Development (SEHD) in the clinic, including Learning Disability (LD) and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) testing. First, SCCC trainees complete the intake, then SEHD student in the School Psychology program complete the psychological testing services. To set up an appointment, please call us at 303-315-7270.​

Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, 

      and Mental Disorders/Mental Health Issues

$375 - $425​


Clients pay for services at the time of the​ appointment. Payment methods accepted are cash or check. Sorry, credit cards and insurance are not accepted. We require​ 24-hour cancellation notice or a cancellation fee will be assessed.

​CU Denver Students

CU Denver students receive counseling sessions at no cost as part of student fees. Students are able to attend free, unlimited groups and workshops offered each semester.

Denver Public School Students and Families

Children from DPS and their families are eligible for counseling sessions at $5 per session. 

​Community Members

Community members are eligible for counseling sessions.  Fees for community members are assessed on a sliding scale fee structure below. The fee structure is based on the client's income and number of dependents.
