General Requirements

  • Must have completed a minimum of 15 UC Denver semester credit hours
  • All internships receive letter grades
  • Students can earn a maximum accumulation of up to 6 credits of internship credit toward their degree
  • Must have completed a minimum of 60 semester credit hours toward the 120 semester credit hours required by BACJ degree with 12 of those credit hours counting toward the 36 semester credit hours required by the Criminal Justice major


  • All Criminal Justice undergraduate degrees require successful completion of an approved internship course or approved experiential component
  • Minimum GPA - 2.0
  • Undergraduate Criminal Justice Internships are offered for variable 1-6 credit hours with a maximum accumulation of 6 credit hours:
    • 1-3 credits of CJ Internship may be applied to Criminal Justice major requirements and count toward the 9 credit hours of criminal justice electives required by the major
    • 1-3 additional credits of CJ Internship may be applied to the general education requirements (e.g., upper division) and/or the 120 credits required for graduation

Not-for-Credit Internships

  • Minimum GPA - 2.0
  • Complete Learning Agreement with signatures from site supervisor and submit to Internship Advisor at Experiential Learning Center
