Information for Student Veterans and Employers
The CU Denver Office of Veteran Student Services and the Experiential Learning Center of CU Denver are working together to create this robust internship for student veterans.  Student veterans commonly work up to 20 hours per week for a business, nonprofit or government entity for a 16-week period during the fall and spring semesters.  Students can elect to either receive academic credit or participate in a not-for-credit/non-academic internship.  This program is open to sophmores, juniors and seniors who meet the ncessary requirements.

To get Started with the Internship Process:

  • Call (303-556-6656) or stop by the Experiential Learning Center and sign up for one of our Student Veterans Internship Orientations.
  • These Orientations take place on the second Wednesday of every month from 9am to 10am in the Experiential Learning Center, Tivoli Room 260.
          • If any of these dates and times conflict with a class scedule, please let the staff know.  We will do our best to find a time that works with your schedule.

  • The Experiential Learning Center will help you search for internship opportunities by:
          • Helping you decide on the type of experience you want
          • Assist with developing your resume and cover letters
          • Identify Internship Opportunities
          • Research Organizations

How to Apply:

  • The ELC will help you in the 'Apply' stage of the internship process by:
          • Coaching you through the interview process
          • Work with the Career Center to provide Practice Interviews
          • Coach you through the process of Accepting An Offer
