The Experiential Learning Center (ELC) is here to support you in your work with student interns. ELC Internship Advisors are assigned to each undergraduate academic department and serve as the central point of contact between faculty members, organizations, and students.

Our Services:

  • Handshake - our online database of internships and co-ops 
  • Develop internship opportunities for your students
  • Follow up on any employer leads you provide our office
  • Work with employers to create job descriptions that incorporate meaningful projects and learning opportunities for your students
  • Assist departments in developing discipline-specific internship syllabi for the department
  • Advise your students about the internship process and assist them with their search
  • Serve as an additional support system for student interns
  • Coordinate students’ course registrations once we receive their completed Learning Agreements
  • Troubleshoot internship placement issues with students and employers
  • Lead optional Professional Development online discussion for interns
  • Coordinate end of semester employer and student evaluation process
  • Coordinate and/or conduct site visits
  • Offer experiential learning class presentations
  • Maintain records on all current and former interns and internship placements by major and semester
  • Coordinate Internship Fairs each semester
  • Provide on-campus professional faculty development opportunities, including workshops through the National Society for Experiential Education
