Denise will graduate May 7, 2011. Her educational achievements are a-dream-come true. She currently holds a 4.0 GPA and was elected as an ALPHA-KAPPA CHAPTER SIGMA THETA TAU member. On January 24, 2011, she started a new journey in my nursing career as Director of Nursing for Valley Wide Health Systems with the responsibility of nine clinics. An achievement indeed. The challenges she faces are meeting the needs of her 14 year old son, working full time and attending classes on a full time basis. The scholarship monies impacted her life by giving her the funds to attain a goal and a dream. The monies helped with the purchase of books and tuition. Through her education, she has grown on an educational, professional and spiritual level. Through this, she impacts the patients, her employer and community by sharing what she has learned to promote excellence in healthcare that is cost effective to the underserved and vulnerable population in which she lives. She has also applied for the post certification FNP program. She currently holds the position of Director of Nursing for Valley Wide Health Systems.
