The Office of Campus Student Services offers Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (CPR) for CU alumni, faculty, staff, students, and unaffiliated community members. This video-based, Instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both in-facility and prehospital settings. This course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills. However, you do not need to be a healthcare provider to take this course. The BLS course provides a two-year certification through the American Heart Association.
BLS Provider is a 4-hour traditional classroom course where Basic Life Support is taught and demonstrated. Participants learn to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, and use an AED.
