The School of Medicine offers one of the country’s top rural medicine programs. The CU College of Nursing educates the only undergraduate students on the Anschutz Medical Campus. The Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has the second-largest online doctoral program for working pharmacists in the U.S. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner MS program ranks 5th in U.S. News & World Report’s "America’s Best Graduate Schools." Innovative faculty at the College of Nursing pioneered the nation’s first nurse practitioner and school nurse programs. Peace Corps volunteers and trainees ranked the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical School Graduate School 18th best in the nation in 2011.

Students from Anschutz Medical Campus participated in Rural Immersion Week in Lamar
The students immunized. They branded. They castrated.
Those activities—all with cattle—were part of the many experiences of 14 students from Anschutz Medical Campus who traveled to Lamar in June as part of the 2014 Rural Immersion Week
The students, from the schools of medicine, pharmacy and nursing, visited the town for five days to gain insight into rural life. Now in its fifth year, the Rural Immersion Week saw this year’s cohort visit the smallest community so far. Mark Deutchman, MD, director of the School of Medicine’s Rural Track and associate dean for rural health, explained that the goal of the week in Lamar was community immersion
