Meet Our Students

Nursing BS

Our Students Come From All Over The World...

We have a rich history of attracting learners from across the United States and from various countries. The program has attracted students from almost every state in the USA, and learners have also had the opportunity to learn with students from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Lebanon, Thailand and Canada. The diversity of our student population creates lively and informative discussions in our course with each person learning not just informatics content but about nursing and health care across the world.

Our I-Collaboratory social network also provides excellent opportunities for both current students and alumni to create networks that will facilitate their career development and entry into the informatics field. When you graduate, you have access to a network of informatics specialists that can help guide and mentor you.

Backgrounds

Our current student population is comprised both of nurses who are already working in informatics positions, and those new to the field. Approximately 25% are currently employed in the field and their positions range from clinical analysts, to CNIOs, to a CIO.
Of the remaining students, at least half of them have experience as a super user or represented their units on informatics committees within their institution. We also have students from the VA, military, ambulatory settings, and vendors. The diversity of our students' backgrounds and experiences enriches our program, providing unique perspectives and excellent networking opportunities.
