Victoria Erickson

Vicki Erickson teaches and is the Program Director for the master's and doctor of nursing practice programs. She earned her master's degree in nursing from the University of Miami, and a second master's degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She earned her PhD in nursing from the University of Texas in 1987, when she joined the College of Nursing. Since joining the University of Colorado in 1987, she has directed the PNP option and was instrumental in the creation of three pediatric faculty practices associated with the College of Nursing.

Erickson has presented to local, regional and international audiences on the use of digital story telling in nursing. She has been involved in several digital film projects to promote the role of advanced practice nurses.

She was elected to membership as a Distinguished Practitioner in the National Academies of Practice (1998) and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (2010). Awards include recognition as an Emerging Leader in the University of Colorado system (2006-2007) and the Deans Award for Excellence in Practice (1996).​
