The Center for Global Health has partnered with the National University of Rwanda since 2006 to augment the teaching offered to medical residents in training. The Center has sent U.S. Professors in various medical disciplines to Rwanda for several weeks at a time. Student involvement has been in place since 2009, under the auspices of a UCD faculty member stationed in Rwanda. One of the projects conducted involved educational research using PDA’s for bedside clinical decision-making amongst Rwandan residents with the help of two SOM first year students. Future projects include capacity building within the OB/GYN Department as well as a continuation of past educational initiatives.
