Additional Services and Groups

Available to all enrolled AMC students


For those interested in or prefer a group setting, we offer two support groups for AMC enrolled students.  See below for additional information about each group.  


 

 ADHD Support Group

This group provides students with ADHD strategies to minimize its impact while pursuing their academic goals.

Group meetings are held Fridays at 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

 OCD Support Group

This group will have a cognitve behavioral focus and will follow Dr. Jonathan Grayson's GOAL (Giving Obsessive-compulsives Another Lifestyle) format:
  • The Question (discussion of a topic related to OCD)
  • Goal Planning (members set a goal to accomplish during the next week)
Led by Drs. Rachel Davis, MD, and Isabelle Guillemet, MD, Student Mental Health faculty

Meetings will be held Mondays, 12 noon - 1:00 p.m., Bldg. 500 Rm. E2343 (2nd floor, east hallway).

 Peer Mental Health Support Group

The goals of this support group are to empower studens to empower their patients and community as well as to promote mental health.  It is an open, conversational group led by faculty-trained student facilitators.  Attendees will receive help with personal, academic, and professional challenges such as:

  • Maintaining work-life balance
  • Interpersonal relationships
  • Stress management
  • Mental health

Meetings are held Wednesdays, 5:15 - 6:15 p.m., Bldg. 500 Rm. E2343 (2nd floor, east hallway).

 Psychoeducational Testing

The AMC Student Mental Health Service offers psychological assessments to help students determine whether they have ADHD or a learning disorder and/or need documentation of a learning disability in order to receive appropriate accommodations.
