Clinical Practice
​Dr. Liewluck is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine-Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand. He completed a Research Fellowship at the Department of Neuromuscular Research, National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry of Japan, followed by a Neurology residency at the University of Miami. He then completed a Neuromuscular Disorders (Muscle Disorders) and Clinical ​Neurophysiology (EMG) fellowships at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  He sub-specializes in neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine. He sees patients with neuromuscular disorders at the University of Colorado Hospital, Anschutz Medical campus. He has particular interest in inflammatory myopathy (polymyositis, dermatomyositis, and inclusion body myopathy), autoimmune necrotizing myopathy, hereditary disorders of skeletal muscle (congenital myopathy, metabolic myopathy, myofibrillar myopathy and muscular dystrophy), rhabdomyolysis, hereditary disorders of neuromuscular transmission (congenital myasthenic syndromes) and peripheral nerve hyperexcitability syndromes (cramp-fasciculation syndrome, Isaacs’s syndrome and Morvan’s syndrome). He also performs muscle, nerve and skin biopsy and electrodiagnostic testing (electromyography/EMG and nerve conduction studies) to evaluate motor neuron, nerve, muscle and neuromuscular junction disorders. Dr. Liewluck has authored or co-authored over 30 journal articles, book chapters and abstracts regarding various aspects of neuromuscular disorders, especially muscle diseases. He serves as a member of American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) Research and Neuromuscular Medicine Self-Assessment Examination (NMSAE) Committees.
