Prior to coming to the University of Colorado I was in private practice for 10 years in a less traditional role with a prominent emergency medicine group in Denver. Since then I have been with University of Colorado practicing and teaching Family Medicine residents and medical students at AF Williams Family Medicine Center. I would like to utilize my experience and skills for medical education and to improve healthcare delivery. As a longstanding member of the medical community in Denver along with my extensive experience working in the field I understand the needs of the community.
I have a strong interest in medical student education for the betterment of myself and ultimately the care of patients. It is an area in which I am strongly devoted to improving for myself and others who utilize and work in a complex healthcare delivery system. As part of the Medical Student Education team, I developed and direct the Department of Family Medicine’s Medical Student Mentored Scholarly Activity Program (MSA). I have also participated in the School of Medicine Teaching Scholars Program with the goal of learning skills for curricular design and implementation such as the MSA Program.
