The Purpose of BRANCH is to:

    • Work within the scope of our vision and mission statements for the advancement of preventative and community health.
    • Provide a sustainable platform for current and future student-initiated public health projects to move into the community through the formation of long-term relationships. 
    • Strive to enable students to become proactive about preventative health by providing them a forum for networking which will link them to necessary resources to be able to implement their projects. 
    • Promote student-generated public health and research initiatives. 

Support for BRANCH will be provided by the Department of Family Medicine and AHEC. Our meetings are informal and fun.

 

Who's Invited?

Active Membership

Active Membership is open to students of The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus who have expressed an interest in the vision and mission of BRANCH and who have been approved through our application process.

Induction into the status as an Active Member requires the summation of a formal application  (new applications to be reviewed monthly), and will be evaluated and approved by BRANCH Vice Presiden(s). This process is meant to help determine the level of commitment of Active Member-seeking applicants and not to deter interested students from pursuing Active Membership status.  

 

Passive Membership

Passive Membership is available to any interested student, faculty, or staff and does not require any formal application process.  Passive Membership members are encouraged to participate in ongoing BRANCH-initiated projects, but they are not allowed to propose new student-based public health projects and they are not allowed to have any BRANCH voting privileges.
