The following image-based protocols have been developed, validated, published and are available to UCCC investigators:
T1, T2, FISP, PD weighted MRI for organ/ lesion detection and volumetric assessment of lesions;
T1- and T2-mapping for targeted and untargeted molecular MR imaging based on gadolinium and iron oxide nanoparticles;
Dynamic contrast enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI for both animal and clinical research applications) to assess tumor angiogenesis and therapeutic effects of angiogenesis inhibitors;
Diffusion weighted (DW) MRI and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) mapping to assess tissue cellularity and cell death;
Anatomical CT protocols for tumor lesion and size in lung cancers and bone metastasis;
Under development: molecular CT imaging using gold nanoparticles;
Metabolic fluoro-deoxy-glucose (FDG) PET for treatment response;
Expanded metabolic profiling and metabolic fluxes in cancer cells and biopsy by NMR;
