Seventh Annual Contemporary Management of Aerodigestive Disease in Children

Intended Audience

This course is intended for pediatric otolaryngologists, gastroenterologists, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, advanced practice providers, program nurses and nutritionists who provide care for children with complex breathing and feeding issues. In addition, those interested in multidisciplinary care delivery for populations with complex medical needs, include administrators, will find this conference beneficial. Residents, fellows, students interested in these topics are encouraged to attend.


Course Overview

After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify metrics in use currently and potentially future metrics that may be used to quantify the value of care delivered by Aerodigestive programs. 
  • Develop hands-on skills and experience with fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing techniques and findings. 
  • Analyze the current state of evaluation and management of severe tracheobronchomalacia, including current medical and surgical methods and their short and long-term outcomes.
  • Implement algorithmic approaches to aspiration, special populations (e.g. Down syndrome), airway stenosis and airway malacia currently in use at Aerodigestive programs around the county. 
  • Identify gaps in professional practice and methods of process improvement that have been used previously by Aerodigestive programs that may be of benefit and implement those methods on a local level. ​

Abstract submission deadline is October 11th. You will be notified if your abstract has been accepted by October 20th, 2019


Three cash awards of $250 will be awarded to the three best posters or presentations.


Poster Session

The poster session set up in Krugman Conference Hall (Trivisible Room) throughout the duration of the conference. The conference will provide a board, pin, and stand for all approved posters. Recommended poster size is 36"x48" but larger sizes are acceptable.
