Must have completed two years of college
Openings: 1
Objectives:
The lack of information and communication regarding the use of CAM from both patients and providers can create barriers to patient care. The objectives of this study are to establish usage patterns and perspectives of CAM in the cancer patient population and health care providers at the University of Colorado Cancer Center.
Two surveys have been created to identify (1) what types of cancer patients seek CAM; (2) what types of CAM are being used; (3) what are the reasons why patients seek CAM; (4) what are the providers’ perceptions of why patients seek CAM; and (5) where patients and providers gain their information regarding CAM.
Description:
The summer fellow will participate in (1) compilation and analysis of data collected from patient and provider surveys; (2) development of teaching tools to educate patients and providers on CAM; and (3) review of the literature and manuscript writing.
