Program Objective:
To become familiar with cancer as a human disease, its molecular and cellular properties, and how it is detected.
Program Description:
The student will learn how cancer is diagnosed by microscopic examination, and what the concepts of treatment and carcinogenesis are that could affect outcome. The student will also be involved with analysis of the global pattern of gene expression through microarrays and molecular cytogenetics.
