To learn and participate in basic and translational science research for the understanding of cancer biology and treatment of human cancer.
In this project, the student will have the opportunity to: 1) learn basic cell culture techniques, 2) carry out assays for the assessment of cytotoxicity, 3) evaluate novel therapeutic agents using cell cultures and tumor-bearing nude mice, 4) study effects of drug combinations, 5) study pharmacokinetics and biodistribution of novel agents in small animals, and 6) in vivo imaging using optical (fluorescence and bioluminescence) method and magnetic resonance imaging.
