What is Supportive Oncology?

By definition: supportive oncology (suh-POR-tiv- än-ˈkä- lə-jē) Care given to improve the quality of life of patients who have a diagnosis of cancer. The goal of supportive oncology is to prevent or treat as early as possible the cancer, side effects caused by treatment of cancer, and psychological, social, and spiritual problems related to cancer or its treatment.
