The Colorado Sickle Cell Treatment and Research Center is the only regional comprehensive medical care center with special expertise in hemoglobinopathies. The Center’s mission is to provide comprehensive care to all persons with sickle cell disease and other hemoglobinopathies; to conduct research to elucidate the pathophysiology of sickle cell disease; to develop and implement treatments and systems of care that prevent or minimize complications and that prolong and improve the quality of life.
The Center is also committed to providing education about sickle cell disease and other hemoglobin disorders to physicians, nurses, other healthcare providers and trainees, and the community at large.
