School of Medicine Branch in Colorado Springs

In 2010, a group of Colorado Springs economic development supporters called “Operation 6035” met with Dean Richard Krugman to initiate a feasibility study of opening a Colorado Springs branch of the School of Medicine. In August, 2012, voters approved that agreement.

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) has agreed to partner with the School of Medicine to provide student services. Funding will not come from state dollars. Instead, a fundraising campaign will be led by the CU Foundation and Colorado Springs supporters.

The El Paso County Medical Society (EPCMS) will be working with the School of Medicine on efforts to recruit community physicians via their Medical & Student Task Force.

Please contact us if you are interested in working with students as a faculty preceptor or block director; learning more about the Colorado Springs branch; or are interested in providing feedback.
